"A" is for "Division A - Technical Activities"
The Technical
Activities Division at TRB is responsible for committee and task
force activities, the field visit program, the Annual Meeting,
conferences and workshops, responses to inquiries in cooperation with
Library and Information Services Division, and publications.
"D" is for "Group D - Planning and Environment"
Group D
is one of ten groups in the Division A. The ten groups in the Technical
Activities Council include:
- AB000 - Policy and Organization Group
- AD000 - Planning and Environment Group
- AF000 - Design and Construction Group
- AH000 - Operations and Maintenance Group
- AL000 - Legal Resources Group
- AN000 - System Users Group
- AP000 - Public Tranportation Group
- AR000 - Rail Group
- AT000 - Freight Systems Group
- AV000 - Aviation Group
"A" is for "Section ADA - Transportation System Policy, Planning and Process Section"
Section ADA
is the family of committees and task forces related to statewide and metropolitan
planning, including small and medium-sized metro areas, national parks, public
involvement and acccess management. The other sections in Group D include: Travel
Analysis Methods (Section ADB); Environment and Energy (Section ADC); and
Social, Economic and Cultural issues (Section ADD).
"20" is for "Standing Committee #ADA20 - Metropolitan Policy, Planning and
Processes "
There are seven standing committees and task forces in Section ADA, including
the standing committee on statewide multimodal transportation planning (ADA10),
the committee on transportation planning for small and medium-sized communities
(ADA30), the task force on the transportation needs for national parks and public
lands (ADA40T), the committee on transportation programming, planning and systems
evaluation (ADA50), the committee on public
involvement in planning (ADA60), and the committee
on asset management (ADA70).
